Fitness Programs
The highly stressful lifestyle of today requires a moderate level of fitness to cope up and live up to the challenges modern living has in store for you. To embark upon a fitness schedule was always on the cards but it was difficult to decide the right fitness program. Most of us defer exercising because we do not know what works best for us, or even if we start upon something, we get disheartened when we do not see any noticeable results. That is because we do not research upon the type of fitness program best suited to our body type and requirement. There are a number of elements that help decide the right fitness program for you. Here are some of them.
Assess your fitness level: You must have a fair idea of your fitness levels before starting with a fitness program. You can assess your fitness levels by simple tests like your pulse rate before and after a one mile walk, whether you can touch your toes while you bend, your body mass index, the circumference of your waist and your ability to do sit ups. Furthermore, it is better to consult a doctor especially if you have any chronic ailments or have been sedentary for along time.
Set your goals: Set goals for yourself. For instance how many inches you want to lose along the waistline in order to fit in a size 30 jeans. You can aim at increasing the cardiovascular workout as you start experiencing an increase in your stamina levels. Work towards these aims slowly and surely. There need not be mammoth goals and the time allotted towards their achievement should not be too short either. For instance, if you set an impossible goal of achieving a bikini ready body in two or three weeks, you are bound to lose motivation. Set small goals and celebrate their success.
Choosing the right diet: Dietary supplements are not the answer to muscle building and strength gaining. It is better to revamp your diet in consultation with a nutritionist. The right diet in its right amount and at right intervals can do wonders with your fitness program. Being on a diet does not mean that you have to starve yourself like an anorexic. It just means that you learn eating healthy.
Do what you love doing: Fitness is not a temporary flirtation. It is a lifelong preoccupation. Therefore choose only what you like doing. If you are comfortable in playing a game or in cycling outdoors, you should do that instead of pumping iron at the gym. If running bothers you, and you enjoy yourself more at a dance class it is a better bargain to don those dancing shoes. If you are a person who gets bored exercising alone, then it is a good idea to join a boot camp wherein a trainer undertakes group outdoor training with a mix of exercises like push ups, running, suspension training and weights.
Consistency is the key: No benefits can be reaped out of any fitness program unless it is consistent. You have to fit in your daily fitness around your busy lifestyle and also select a type of exercise that does not burn a hole in your pocket, or else it is quite likely that you will leave it after some time. A boot camp also helps in getting into a routine physical activity.
