The taste that higher fat foods have is lost when the fat content of any given item of food is lowered. However, salt and/or sugar can be added in order to boost the taste. A diabetic is unable to produce enough insulin to regulate the amount of sugar in the blood and this can be dangerous. However, if managed correctly then there is no reason why the individual cannot lead a healthy life. A calorie controlled diet is perhaps best for these individuals because it involves eating normal food in smaller or controlled amounts. A diabetic would therefore not have to resort to special diet food to lose weight! 

Bearing in mind that the above factors are all essential considerations when you want to adopt a fitness diet weight loss plan, it is always advisable to consult a doctor first if you do have any ailments that are ongoing and may affect your ability to stick to a diet. Your doctor will be better equipped to advise you on the merits of any diet plan in relation to your illness and, as such, your health will not be affected. Your health should be your priority above any fitness diet weight loss plan, but losing weight can be considered a bonus!
